Responsibilities & Qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES
Familiar with BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.
Knowledge in the use of network cabling test equipment including network testers, copper cable testers, fiber OTDRs and fiber power meters.
Analyze, administer, and maintain telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure.
Ensure the baseline configuration of all network assets and point-to-point circuits, are documented, and configured according to DoD and JSP engineering standards.
Ensure all systems are properly baselined, tested, and validated in accordance with DISA's STIG prior to deployment.
Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of network assets and configurations.
Use cable testing equipment, such as cable testers, multimeters, and optical power meters.
Familiarity with cable management techniques to ensure neat and organized cable runs.
Provide a basic understanding of IP networking concepts, including TCP / IP, subnetting, and VLANs.
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Analyze, administer, and maintain telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure.
Dress, terminate, and test cables and components.
Ability to work with power tools and ladders.
Test, locate, install, and repair cabling infrastructure associated with trouble calls, and perform routine maintenance.
Install, maintain, and repair voice and data communications systems.
Identify, track, and remove abandoned cable, and keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience : 2-4 Years Experience
Certifications :
Data Cabling Installer (DCI) certification
Fiber Optics Installer (FOIC) certification
Clearance : Must possess Secret clearance
