Job descriptionThis is an entry-level position with no experience required. The successful candidate should be enrolled in an associate degree program. Enrolled in a program to receive a associate's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, preferably electrical engineering, is required. Must have good skills in Microsoft Word and Excel Experience with drafting programs, particularly AutoCAD and Revitispreferred. Willingness to learn new programs and skills in Power Delivery. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical reports and procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and other business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other staff members. Required mathematical skills are commensurate with the technical or engineering discipline practiced (e.g., engineering calculations, design, etc.) Demonstrate in-depth understanding of basic computer systems and software packages. Must be willing to learn software that is specific to Power Delivery Industry. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Description
This position requires working with engineering and other technical subject matter experts in all aspects of electrical substation and protections & controls design services. The successful candidate will perform CAD work of red-lined engineering markups for various substations and / or protection and control engineering projects as well as project support working under engineering supervision.
Job Duties :
- Opening, revising, plotting, and saving of drawing CAD files.
- Create new drawings from templates from scratch with title blocks and border drawing blocks.
- Create and modify drawing blocks, borders, and title blocks
- Provide direction for compiling, collating, assembling, and verifying completeness of drawing and project document packages.
- Advanced use of scaling with model and paper space.
- Ability to use style and formatting in CAD software.
- Advanced knowledge of plot profiles and user profiles in CAD package.
- Advanced ISO view and 3-D view drawing depictions.
- Assist CAD technicians and CAD operators in the development of their skills.
- BIM experience preferred.
- Support project tasks as needed
