Product Engineer

About Hollman / Role Summary

Hollman is a design-to-manufacturing organization producing highly customized millwork and casework solutions. The Project Engineer supports customer projects from order release through production by preparing accurate engineering documentation and coordinating with internal teams. This role focuses on translating customer and sales requirements into manufacturable designs while supporting production flow, quality, and schedule. The Project Engineer works under the guidance of senior engineers and engineering leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Documentation & Design
• Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings and models using SolidWorks.
• Translate customer requirements, sales documentation, and site conditions into manufacturable designs.
• Create and maintain Bills of Manufacturing, including materials and required operations, to support production flow through defined work centers.
• Maintain accurate documentation and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.

Cross-Functional Support
• Work closely with Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Installation teams to support project execution.
• Participate in project kickoffs, design reviews, and issue-resolution meetings.
• Support engineering-related change orders and production questions.

Manufacturing Support
• Design with manufacturability, efficiency, and standard practices in mind.
• Support routing definitions and operation sequencing within the Bill of Manufacturing.
• Provide basic support for CNC manufacturing workflows; exposure to HOMAG/WoodWOP or Biesse/bSolid is a plus.
• Support parametric or configuration-driven design tools as assigned.

Quality & Improvement
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of engineering deliverables to reduce rework.
• Follow established engineering standards, templates, and best practices.
• Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement.

Qualifications

Required
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related) or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years of experience in a project, product, or manufacturing engineering role.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferably in casework, millwork, or fabricated products.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred / Nice to Have
• Exposure to Bills of Manufacturing, routings, and work centers.
• Familiarity with HOMAG CNC machines and WoodWOP (coding a plus, not required).
• Familiarity with Biesse CNC machines and b_Solid.
• Familiarity with GCODE.
• Experience with Infor SyteLine ERP.
• Some exposure to PDM systems and/or DriveWorks.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Experience working in a make-to-order manufacturing environment
