Job Summary :
UPMC is seeking a dedicated and skilled Cardiac Surgeon to join our prestigious team. As a Cardiac Surgeon, you will play a crucial role in providing high–quality cardiac surgical care to patients. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment with state–of–the–art facilities.
Responsibilities :
Perform surgical procedures on patients with cardiac diseases, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair or replacement, congenital heart defect corrections, and other complex procedures.
Evaluate patient conditions, order diagnostic tests, review medical histories, and consult with other specialists to determine the most appropriate treatment plans.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care and outcomes.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in cardiac surgery techniques and apply them in the clinical setting.
Participate in research activities and contribute to the development of new treatment options.
Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures, potential risks, and post–operative care.
Qualifications :
Medical degree from an accredited institution.
Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Valid state medical license or eligibility for licensure in Pennsylvania.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in cardiac surgery.
Proficient in a wide range of cardiac surgical procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
Commitment to providing high–quality patient care.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances :
Current licensure as a Cardiac Surgeon in Pennsylvania or eligibility for licensure.
Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification.
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification (if applicable).
Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal.
Act 33 with renewal.
Act 34 with renewal.
Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.
