Job Title : Career Counselor
Department : Veterinary Medicine | Student Affairs
The Career Counselor supports professional students and alumni for post-graduation outcomes through professional development training, as well as career advising and counseling. They coach students on career exploration, navigating barriers, building self-confidence, and making decisions. They advise and support professional students in job searches and networking opportunities, and perform outreach to organizations and community, industry and professional groups, faculty and university partners. The Career Counselor supports the Director of the Office of Professional Success (Lead Career Counsellor) in three core professional development courses with an emphasis on experiential learning and programming that provides real-world experiences for DVM students. Supports campus recruiting visits for companies and organizations, including an annual career fair. In partnership with the Lead Career Counselor, develops and implements a networking / mentoring program to connect students and alumni.

Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in relevant field; experience with career counseling and professional development. Previous experience with program or event planning.
Desired Qualifications :
Master’s degree in relevant field; experience in career services in a professional / graduate degree program. Coaching certification a plus.
Working Conditions :
Office work environment with exposure to animal dander and / or zoonotic diseases. This position requires successful completion of a background and credit check.
Target Salary Range : $51,500.00 - $67,250.00 per year; commensurate with experience, internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
