Job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality carpentry work across residential and commercial projects, ensuring that all structures are built to precise specifications and safety standards. As a Journeyman Carpenter, you will bring your expertise in framing, trim, drywall, siding, and finishing to deliver exceptional craftsmanship on every project. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, utilize advanced tools and techniques, and contribute to the creation of durable, aesthetically pleasing structures. Your energy and attention to detail will help drive project success from start to finish.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute carpentry tasks.
  • Measure, cut, assemble, and install wood and other construction materials using hand tools and power tools for woodworking.
  • Perform framing, door hanging, siding installation, drywall hanging and finishing, as well as flooring and tile laying.
  • Operate woodworking machines safely and efficiently to fabricate custom components for various projects.
  • Conduct concrete forming, rebar installation, plastering, stucco application, and metal stud framing as needed.
  • Install fixtures such as cabinets, countertops, mold remediation systems, and other residential or commercial features.
  • Ensure adherence to power tool safety protocols while maintaining a clean and organized work environment on-site.
  • Assist with remodeling projects, restoration work, heavy lifting tasks, caulking applications, and siding repairs.
  • Interpret construction plans accurately while managing multiple tasks on busy construction sites.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Journeyman Carpenter with a strong background in residential carpentry and construction projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, hammers, chisels along with power tools including drills, saws, sanders for woodworking.
  • Familiarity with woodworking machines used for fabrication of custom components.
  • Experience in framing (including metal stud framing), drywall installation & finishing, siding application, flooring installation & tile laying.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Knowledge of construction estimating processes is a plus but not required.
  • Strong understanding of power tool safety standards and proper handling techniques.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced construction environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in interpreting technical plans and executing precise craftsmanship.
