As requested, review new scopes of work to advise the most effective means of producing and to provide input on the anticipated labor required to complete the work.
Participate in shop drawing review sessions to ensure the shop drawings indicate the most effective means of producing the work and to verify the constructability of the drawings.
Review new work orders to effectively plan and complete the respective scope of work.
Managing the staff for Carpentry department.
Ensuring the necessary documentation to complete the work has been provided.
Ensuring the approach indicated is the most efficient and cost-effective approach.
Providing an estimate for the anticipated level of effort required to complete the work.
Required to complete material takeoffs and material requisitions for new work orders.
Ensuring proper staffing as required to complete all active work orders in the timeframes indicated.
Communicate directly with the HR Director as required to recruit new direct hire employees.
Communicate directly with the leased labor providers as required to recruit new leased labor employees.
Train, develop, and lead the staff for the Carpentry department.
Complete annual reviews for all personnel in your department.
Maintain a balanced crew in accordance with the blended crew rate for your department.
Complete payroll on a weekly basis for the staffing within your department.
Oversee the production of all active work orders within your respective department.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the internal quality control manual, project specifications, and all applicable safety regulations.
Ensure all staff is working in an effective manner and work orders are progressing in accordance with the scheduled deadlines.
Communicate and work effectively with the other foremen as the work progresses through each department.
Maintain the facility and equipment within your respective department.
Oversee the bulk material inventory for your respective department
Communicate ideas for facility improvements or alternative work procedures to the Shop Manager.
Qualifications
Experience :
Minimum of 10 years of experience in carpentry.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
Communication :
Communicates well both verbally and in writing, creates accurate and punctual reports, delivers presentations, shares information and ideas with others, has good listening skills.
Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred but not required)
Computer skills :
Experienced in the Microsoft Office Suite
Experienced in PDF Editors (Bluebeam Revu is preferred but not required)
Experience with CAD (preferred but not required)
Certifications :
OSHA 10 or 30 Hour (Preferred but not required)
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
Ability to understand and use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while on construction sites.
