Job Summary
HOURS : 7.0 Hours per day - Split Shift from 6 : 00 am. to 9 : 30 am. and 12 : 00 pm. to 3 : 30 pm.

JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE : BUS DRIVER
DEFINITION :
Under the direct supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, performs the necessary duties to safely operate a school bus over designated routes to transport children.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
The following are typical duties and responsibilities for positions in this classification. Any single position may not perform all of these tasks and / or may perform similar related tasks not listed below.
- Safely and effectively operates a school bus over designated routes as assigned, in accordance with assigned time schedules
- Operates the school bus within the rules and regulations set forth by the District, State, and the California Highway Patrol
- Maintains order among students on the bus and while they are being picked up
- Escorts students across streets when necessary
- Complies with District policies regarding student discipline procedures and contact with parents and other citizens
- Performs daily safety checks according to State regulations and reports immediately any and all safety repair needs to the Transportation Supervisor
- Maintains the bus in a safe and clean operating condition
- Maintains accurate and current daily transportation reports
- Provides simple first-aid to injured or ill students when required
- Transports students, teachers, and parent volunteers on field trips to various locations, choosing the safest and most efficient routes to make schedule and departure times
- Assists with transportation fee procedures
- Performs other related work as required
