Job Title: Household Manager / Family Support

Schedule:

• Flexible with 15-20 hours per week, Monday - Friday
• Core hours: Monday-Thursday, 12:00 PM - 3:30 PM
• Flexible to be available for schedule changes, including occasional evening coverage and Fridays

Compensation: $40-$45 per hour

About Our Family

We are a busy, dynamic family of four with two daughters, ages 12 and 15, and one cat. Our household is always in motion, with a frequently changing schedule that includes extracurricular activities like horseback riding, robotics, and various school commitments. Each parent brings unique energy to the home—one parent works in the legal profession with a highly variable schedule and frequent travel, while the other is an entrepreneur with a consistent daily routine. We are looking for someone who can seamlessly integrate into our fast-paced lifestyle, helping to balance the energy and keep the household running smoothly. We value family time and want someone who can manage the day-to-day tasks that allow us to spend more time together. As we've recently moved into a new home, we're focused on building systems to create efficiency and streamline household operations. With that, we also hope to create more space for family time and relaxation, so we can all enjoy a little more downtime together. An organized self-starter with the ability to follow routine but not be thrown off by last-minute changes will be essential to fitting into our family's dynamic, as we work to optimize our routines and balance our busy lives. Careful attention to detail is a must.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

We are looking for a highly organized, proactive, and flexible individual who thrives in a constantly changing environment. You are someone who sees what needs to be done without waiting for direction and can manage multiple tasks with ease, while also looking for ways to make our schedules and processes more efficient. You have excellent judgment and a calm, professional demeanor, even in the midst of a busy household. Your ability to shapeshift from kid chauffeur one day to household manager the next is key to keeping up with our shifting schedules. You are a self-starter who can follow directions but also has the ability to operate independently and knows how to anticipate needs while offering thoughtful improvements. We value good communication and seek someone who can work collaboratively with our family, while also helping relieve the mental load and support us in achieving a balanced routine. A sense of humor and flexibility are key to making this a great fit.

We eat at home most nights of the week, and while our family does like to cook, due to our busy schedule, we need support around weekly meal planning and would like to have the ingredients ready to go.

Key Responsibilities:

Household Management & Organization:

• Maintain household organizational systems (closets, pantry, storage)
• Reset and tidy rooms daily; maintain overall neatness, ensure home is prepped for cleaning services
• Oversee household schedules and calendars
• Conduct seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding)
• Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs and pick-ups
• Support unpacking for travel or seasonal transitions
• Supervise and coordinate service providers (cleaners, landscapers, etc.)
• Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas

Inventory & Errands:

• Track, organize, and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, and household supplies
• Create and manage running household supply lists
• Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)
• Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping
• Handle package pickup, mail sorting, and deliveries

Meal Planning & Preparation:

• Plan and prep healthy meals/snacks for adults and/or kids
• Batch-cook weekly meals (2-3 meals)
• Shop for groceries and meal-related items
• Follow dietary needs and family preferences
• Clean kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidiness

Laundry & Linen Care:

• Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (e.g., clothing, bedding, towels)
• Manage linens: rotate bedding, refresh towels, restock essentials
• Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies

Pet Care:

• Feed the cat and clean out the litter box
• Brush the cat and clip its nails
• Keep pet supplies stocked and organized

Vehicle Management:

• Schedule and oversee maintenance, oil changes, and inspections
• Ensure vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and organized
• Track registration, insurance, and service schedules

Vendor & Property Oversight

• Schedule and supervise service providers (cleaners, contractors, landscapers) need system development here
• Research and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and quotes
• Oversee outdoor spaces and seasonal maintenance needs

Family Support:

• Assist with school/activity pick-ups or drop-offs
• Light supervision, back-up childcare

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects:

• Tackle occasional deep cleans (fridge)
• Maintain and refresh specific zones (entryways, garage, mudroom)
• Organize special projects: closets, seasonal decorations, riding gear rotation

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

• Help with travel planning, scheduling, and logistics, calendaring
• Assist with the coordination of kids events, kids' doctors appointments, and guest prep
