Job Purpose :
The Junior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the month-end close process and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger. Reporting directly to the Accountant – General Ledger, this role is responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow within a dynamic finance environment.
Key Job Responsibilities :
- Assist with the preparation and posting of journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, amortizations, and reclassifications
- Maintain and update prepayment and accrual schedules
- Perform monthly reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Record intercompany recharges for G&A expenses and ensure monthly intercompany balances are aligned
- Prepare monthly allocation entries across departments or cost centers
- Assist with the calculation and posting of rebate accruals
- Calculate allowance for bad debts and post the corresponding journal entries
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and documentation
- Collaborate with other finance team members to improve processes and support cross-functional initiatives
