Astor Club, a prestigious private club in Chicago, is seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will work under management, ensuring high-quality food preparation and service for our exclusive members.
Responsibilities :
Execute daily tasks and follow recipes precisely.
Maintain food quality by collaborating with BOH staff; chefs must approve all dishes before serving.
Manage inventory and order supplies for your station.
Oversee and assist commis with food prep, including staff meals.
Prioritize FIFO practices and adhere to health department regulations.
Ensure smooth communication between FOH and BOH teams.
Stay updated on industry trends and follow safety protocols.
Report maintenance issues promptly and maintain a positive work environment.
Assist the Banquet Chef and manage stations during their absence.
Prepare and plate dishes accurately and efficiently.
Requirements :
2+ years of experience in a similar role.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, chef-driven environment.
Strong teamwork, adaptability, and focus under pressure.
Punctuality and adherence to uniform policies.
Must be able to work on your feet for 8+ hours and lift at least 35 pounds.
