Summary
Creative Hearts learning center seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in delivering high-quality education and care for children. The ideal candidate will help implement lesson plans, supervise activities, and build strong relationships with children and parents in a nurturing, growth-focused environment.
Duties
- Assist in planning, developing, and implementing daily activities and lesson plans.
- Supervise children during structured activities, meals, and rest periods.
- Maintain open communication with parents and provide updates on children's progress.
- Record and evaluate children's development through observations.
- Ensure program records (attendance, schedules, lesson plans) are accurate and up to date.
- Support the enhancement of early literacy programs.
- Help maintain 'Step Up to Quality' standards and ratings.
- Assist with coordination of field trips and special events.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills
1. At least 18 years of age
2. CPR, FIRST AID, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date
3. Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting.
4. Experience in the planning, organization, and implementation of age- appropriate / developmentally appropriate program activities.
5. Previous experience working with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
6. Exceptional organizational computer skillsPhysical Demands : Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions of the position and to safely supervise children's activities. Such activities could include sitting for extended periods of time, standing for extended periods of time, walking, bending, lifting up to 20+ lbs, stretching. Reasonable accommodations may be met.
Nice To Haves
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of an associate in E.C.E. and two years of classroom experience.We are looking for passionate, creative, and dependable team members, who enjoy preparing children for the future. The candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
