About the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer :
The Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (VP and CFO) plays a crucial role in driving the organization's mission and goals by working closely with the President and CEO, VP Development and Referral Services, and VP Clinical Services to increase organ and tissue donation throughout the service area. This position assists the President and CEO with strategic direction and executive leadership, ensuring the organization has the financial resources available to facilitate and sustain continual improvement and growth. The VP and CFO is responsible for financial oversight, accurate budgeting, financial reporting, and audits. They also maintain effective external relationships and ensure the organization adapts to changing conditions for long-term viability and growth. Additionally, the VP and CFO actively contributes to organizational initiatives, supports strategic planning, and ensures that goals and objectives align with the overall mission, vision, and values of Donor Network of Arizona.
Some essential duties and responsibilities include :
- Works with the executive and leadership teams to increase effective organ and tissue donation throughout the service area.
- Provides oversight and strong organizational leadership necessary for operational and financial success of internal key work systems and processes.
- Protects the organization financially and legally and manages risk.
- Presents the organization's financial position and results, as well as relevant financial issues at regular meetings of the board of directors.
- Participates in and manages the board of directors' finance and investment committees.
- Leads the Director of Finance; provides oversight and ensures effective Finance, Purchasing, and Clinical Supply Inventory resources are available to support the organization.
- Provides analyses and recommendations for expansion, restructuring, or dissolution of program services based on the financial and operational impact to the organization for optimal decision-making.
- Seeks opportunities to contribute and learn from industry expertise and change efforts.
- Develops and maintains effective external financial and strategic relationships.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
7+ years management experience
5 years or more years at the director level (leader of leaders) or above
Strong knowledge of finance administration, accounting, Medicare reimbursement, healthcare environment. Non-profit accounting knowledge preferred.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and / or master's degree in finance preferred
