The Organization
Overlake Medical Center & Clinics is a non-profit regional healthcare system in Bellevue, WA, serving the Eastside since 1960. It is comprised of a 349-bed acute care hospital, Level III Trauma Center, and a network of 36 clinics (primary, urgent, specialty). Overlake has been recognized as a U.S. News Best Regional Hospital, and with Leapfrog A ratings. Overlake joined MultiCare Health System in 2024 as the flagship of the North Puget Sound region. Fiscal year 2024 net revenue was approximately $785M.
The Position
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) reports to the Chief Executive Officer and collaborates with the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Nursing Officer and the Board. The CFO provides financial leadership for Overlake and affiliates including strategy, operations, and fiscal health.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial integrity : Accounting, reporting, audit, tax, capital management.
- Strategic planning : Forecasting, long-range planning, capital investment.
- Operational improvement : Cost containment, labor productivity, revenue cycle oversight.
- Treasury & Risk : Cash management, debt financing, insurance.
- Governance : Board finance committee, fiduciary duties.
- Partnership : Work within MultiCare matrix and regional growth initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate
An MBA is required; CPA is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will be a proven healthcare CFO with experience in system and independent hospital settings. The CFO will have expertise in GAAP, revenue recognition, and internal controls. He or she will have demonstrated turnaround success and operational finance acumen. The successful candidate has leadership experience in team development and change management. Desired personal attributes include collaboration, agility, decisiveness, high emotional intelligence, and strong communication skills.
