Opportunity
A well-established, growth-oriented construction contractor is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction efforts for public works and civil infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for preparing complete estimates, analyzing specifications, coordinating bid efforts, and ensuring accurate, high-quality cost projections.
The Senior Estimator will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to develop thorough estimates, assess risks, and ensure projects are bid competitively while adhering to regulatory and MBE/WBE/DBE/CWA requirements.

What You’ll Do (Essential Duties & Responsibilities)
-
Coordinate total estimating effort for assigned projects or bids.
-
Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine project scope.
-
Analyze project schedules and historical data (purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity reports) to develop unit and man-hour figures.
-
Prepare complete takeoffs using AGTEK and other estimating tools.
-
Consult with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to formulate estimates and resolve questions.

Review subcontractor scopes and incorporate into overall estimates.
-
Follow awarded contracts as needed, including extra work items, change orders, or credits.
-
Maintain detailed working files and price information for future estimates.
-
Research and evaluate options for the most effective means and methods of construction.
What You Bring (Qualifications & Education)
-
Experience: Minimum 7 years of public works estimating experience.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of HCSS and AGTEK estimating software.

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Attributes: Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
