The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting the childcare center Director by overseeing daily operations, ensuring the safety and well-being of children, assisting with curriculum implementation, staff supervision, parent communication, and maintaining positive learning environment within the facility, acting as a key liaison between the director and staff while upholding all regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Classroom supervision : Assist teachers in classrooms as needed, observe children's development, ensure appropriate activities are implemented according to the curriculum.
- Staff management : Support new hire and staff training, ensure adherence to policies and procedures, timekeeping, provide feedback, address concerns.
- Parent communication : Communicate with parents regarding their child's development and progress, coordinate parent meetings. Guide tours and coordinate visits as requested.
- Curriculum development : Collaborative partnership with the Director to develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum, lesson plans, and educational activities.
- Facility management : Maintain a clean and safe environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Center operations : Assist in the management of programs such as CCAP and SNAP, relieve staff for breaks, attend to evening carpool, inspect classrooms for cleanliness
- Administrative tasks : Assist with record-keeping, attendance tracking, communications by phone and email, capture marketing materials, incident reporting, and documentation.
- Emergency preparedness and response : implement safety protocol in accordance with state guidelines, ensure staff is trained on safety protocol, schedule and execute drills, respond to emergencies as they arise calmly and professionally.
