Job description

Chief Of Staff

At RTX, the world largest aerospace and defense company, 185,000 great minds are united by purpose and inspired to make a difference solving the world's most complex problems. With our three market leading businesses, world-class operations and investments in research and development, we offer capabilities and opportunity no one else can. Together, we push the boundaries of known science and find new ways to connect and protect our world.

Pratt & Whitney is a world leader in the design, manufacture and service of aircraft engines and auxiliary power systems and has been revolutionizing modern flight for over 100 years. Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.

What You Will Do:

Pratt & Whitney has an exciting opportunity for a Chief of Staff role reporting to the Vice President of Quality, Chris Kmetz. The Chief of Staff is a key member of the Quality leadership team and plays a critical role in driving strategic priorities, strengthening operational execution, and ensuring clear and consistent communication across the Quality organization and the broader enterprise.

The Chief of Staff leads and coordinates a wide range of activities- major function events, governance routines, and enterprise-level quality alignment activities. The role supports execution of critical initiatives and serves as a central point of integration for communications, operational processes, and organizational priorities. The Chief of Staff also acts as an interface between the Pratt & Whitney VP, Quality and internal and external stakeholders across Pratt & Whitney and RTX.

The ideal candidate for this role excels at managing multiple priorities, exercising discretion, demonstrating strong attention to detail and applying sound business judgment. Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and partner effectively with the Quality team at all levels to drive organizational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate Quality governance cadence, including/not limited to Quality Staff Meetings, PW Quality Council, annual Quality Management Review and other VP Quality meetings.
  • Prepare executive-level materials (high-quality presentations, talking points, and briefing materials) to support internal and external PW and RTX meetings
  • Lead, plan, and execute major global Quality initiatives, such as All Hands events, to engage the global workforce and reinforce core quality and safety principles
  • Select, prioritize, and manage topics requiring leadership decisions or visibility, ensuring readiness of materials for PW and RTX executive forums.
  • Develop and deliver enterprise Quality communications, including quarterly All Hands, monthly training messages, internal announcements, and messaging on behalf of the VP, Quality; support external visibility of the Quality function by preparing LinkedIn content and coordinating aligned messaging with RTX Communications and RTX Quality teams.
  • Plan and coordinate Quality Month communications, events, and related engagement activities across PW and RTX.
  • Work cross-functionally within PW and RTX on various initiatives such as goal alignment and applicable meetings
  • Support executive engagement activities and ensure leadership participation in employee-focused events
  • Enable the flow of information across the Quality leadership team to enable speed, alignment, and effective execution of strategic and operational objectives.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Advanced CORE or Lean Six Sigma equivalent certification.
  • Demonstrated experience in complex project and program management.
  • Experience influencing and collaborating across multiple levels of leadership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create concise, compelling, executive-level materials.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives and driving alignment across large, matrixed organizations.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and make sound judgment-based decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Change management or transformation leadership experience.
