WORK OBJECTIVE

This is a highly responsible administrative support position within the City Manager’s Office, reporting directly to the City Manager. The Chief of Staff II provides comprehensive administrative and clerical assistance in a fast-paced executive environment, ensuring the smooth operation of daily office functions. The position plays a key role in supporting internal coordination, preparing official documents, maintaining records, scheduling meetings, and assisting with communications between the City Manager’s Office, City departments, elected officials, and the public. This role requires strong organizational skills, discretion, attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive information with a high degree of professionalism. The Chief of Staff II acts as a key advisor to the City Manager and is part of the City Manager’s Executive Leadership Team, responsible for high level planning and administration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, Urban Studies, or related field. Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in public administration or executive municipal management, including supervisory experience. Demonstrated experience working with high-level elected officials and executive teams. Possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license throughout employment without any restrictions which affect job performance.

Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements), or obtain within one (1) year of employment. Must have or be able to obtain notary public certification. May be required to have or obtain Federal Citizen Information Center (FCIC) / National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification.
