About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead fundraising efforts for its Francis House and shape the philanthropic strategy of the newly formed Greccio Foundation. The CDO will be the primary development leader and ambassador for Francis House, a beloved local ministry with a strong, community-rooted presence. This role is deeply personal and requires a leader who can honor the sacred space of end-of-life care, reconnect with families, volunteers, and donors, and cultivate meaningful relationships that inspire giving. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in relationship-based fundraising, including major gifts, annual giving, and planned / estate giving, and will be responsible for modernizing and streamlining development systems, rebuilding and leading a high-performing team, and ensuring that all messaging and activities reflect the organization's values.
In addition to the primary focus on Francis House, the CDO will also support the Greccio Foundation in shaping its grantmaking strategy and developing the necessary infrastructure for responsible and transparent giving. The role offers a unique opportunity to unite hands-on development leadership with strategic influence across the organization's expanding family of ministries. The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional with a background in philanthropy, grantmaking, or foundation strategy, and will be expected to operate with a high level of emotional intelligence, engaging with all stakeholders with compassion, discretion, and professionalism. A deep alignment with the mission and values of the organization, as well as a Bachelor's degree and preferably CFRE certification or advanced training in fundraising or nonprofit management, are required.
