POSITION
As the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) at our dynamic and evolving asset management firm, you will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and be based in Charlotte, NC. You will be a collaborative member of the finance team, working closely with the entire organization to realize Allspring's full potential and growth plans. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage and elevate the accounting function to support our global growth and drive business efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leadership and Management : Direct and oversee the company's accounting function, including accounting operations, financial reporting, accounting policy and compliance, revenue operations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, Travel & Entertainment policies, and payroll.
- Strategic Development : Develop and elevate the accounting foundation with people, processes, and systems that will build a scalable organization and drive business growth efficiently.
- Global Growth Support : Strengthen the accounting function's capabilities to support global expansion.
- Cross-Functional Partnership : Serve as a strategic business partner across functions, providing data and insights to support decision-making.
- Compliance and Regulation : Ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC, US GAAP, IFRS, Sarbanes-Oxley, and any industry regulations.
- Day-to-Day Management : Oversee day-to-day accounting, tax, financial reporting, accounts payable, billing, and payroll (including payroll taxes).
- Regulatory Updates : Stay current with GAAP, regulatory, tax, and industry changes impacting Allspring and our financials.
- Audit and Reporting : Act as the key contact for external auditors and manage the annual audit in accordance with GAAP. Responsible for the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and debt servicing.
- Financial Analysis : Analyze drivers that impact financials and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual variances.
- PE Firm Reporting : Handle monthly reporting to the private equity firm for monthly results.
- Team Leadership : Lead and manage the accounting team, including the development of team members.
- Capital Asset Planning : Support capital asset planning and profitability reporting.
- Strategic Thinking : Ability to think strategically and provide insights that drive business decisions.
- M&A Activities : Play a critical role in M&A target evaluation, acquisition, and integration.
