Our client’s U.S. headquarters is based in Charlotte, NC, where we focus on strategy, innovation, and business growth.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee all financial aspects of the business. This role is critical in driving financial strategy, managing day-to-day accounting, and ensuring the company continues its growth trajectory. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working closely with operations, possess strong cost accounting expertise, and provide leadership in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning and analysis (FP&A). Experience with NetSuite is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial leadership and oversight of all financial operations, ensuring the company’s continued growth and profitability.
- Hands-On Accounting: Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Cost Accounting: Develop and manage cost accounting systems, ensuring accurate product costing and margin analysis. Work closely with operations teams to optimize cost structures and improve profitability.
- FP&A: Lead financial planning, analysis, and forecasting activities, including the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
- Collaboration Across Operations: Partner with operations and supply chain teams in the U.S. and UK to align financial goals with operational performance, ensuring the efficient use of resources.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Oversee the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals. Monitor financial performance against the budget and provide insights into variances.
- NetSuite Management: Leverage NetSuite (if applicable) to manage financial processes, improve reporting, and support business intelligence initiatives.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure financial compliance with local and international laws and regulations. Manage external audits and ensure timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate financial risks, including currency exchange, raw material pricing fluctuations, and changes in trade policies affecting the U.K. operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive financial experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong background in cost accounting, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite experience is a plus).
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, particularly in operations and manufacturing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to dive into the details.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
