Supervise and insure the safety and well being of the children at all times, being alert for the needs and / or problems of the children and their teenage parets. Assistan in any way possible, which may include, but is not limited to :
Implementing the daily program for assigned classes (infants, toddlers, preschoolers).
Decorating the room with bulletin boards, pictures, children's art work and other hangings.
Preparing meals and feed or sit with children while. they eat.
Keeping classroom, storage rooms, and bathrooms clean, neat and orderly.
Reporting to Coordinator any special needs or problems of individual children or teen parents, including any cases of suspected child abuse or neglect.
EXPERIENCE :
Experience working with infants, young children, and teenage parents, including enjoyment of these age groups.
Ability to work effectively with staff, parents, and children.
Performs related work as required, or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Assistants must meet the highly qualified requirements of No Child Left Behind (NCLB) at the time of hire. Assistants shall achieve highly qualified status if they have a high school diploma, and
An Associate Degree or two years of college study. At least 60 semester hours, 12 which must be in English or mathematics, depending on job responsibilities, or
A score of at least on the Parapro Test.
Possession of a CDA (Child Development Associate) certificate.
Understanding of child development.Ability to communicate effectively orally and work cooperatively in varying kinds of situations.
