Position Overview

A new leadership opportunity has opened for a Director of Pharmacy (Pharmacy Manager) within a not-for-profit healthcare organization. This role will oversee a collaborative and high-functioning team of 11 pharmacy professionals:

• 5 Pharmacists
• 5 Pharmacy Technicians

The incoming leader will assume responsibility for all aspects of pharmacy operations, compliance, staff development, and safe medication management. The department plays a key role in patient safety, with responsibilities including compounding medications in an ISO-7 cleanroom with an ISO-5 hood, ensuring precision and safety for high-risk medications.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical, operational, and leadership skills within a hospital or healthcare setting. Specific requirements include:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree required
• Current pharmacist license in good standing (or eligibility for reciprocity)
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in hospital pharmacy, including leadership or management roles
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and mentor a multidisciplinary pharmacy team
• Strong knowledge of compounding, regulatory compliance, and accreditation standards
• Demonstrated skills in operations management, budgeting, and quality improvement initiatives
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
