World Relief seeks a Church and Community Engagement Manager. World Relief’s mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. One of the key ways that World Relief accomplishes this mission is by equipping church leaders, teams, individual volunteers, and staff to collaborate together to serve the most vulnerable in their own communities. This role will oversee church and community engagement strategy and goals for the Fort Worth office, while ensuring collaboration and synergy with other program areas and greater breadth and depth of church and community relationships.

Role & Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Collaborate with the Regional Director of CCE to bring healthy, reproducible growth to the Fort Worth office’s CCE efforts
  • Develop and implement local strategies for church mobilization, volunteer engagement, gift in-kind, and advocacy
  • Ensure that Fort Worth CCE staff are equipped to reach long-term goals and short-term projects by implementing clear timelines, responsibilities, and accountabilities
  • Collaborate with Development and Marketing staff to develop recruitment and communication strategies for CCE efforts

Evaluation

  • Equip and train Fort Worth CCE staff to become fundamentally sound in CCE practices
  • Regularly develop and assess metrics across CCE activities for reports and presentations to the Regional Director and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the Regional Director of CCE to evaluate results and adapt local strategy throughout the year
  • Team Management

  • Provide coaching and supervision to Fort Worth CCE staff, investing in the development of individual and team performance
  • Support the onboarding and training of new team members
  • Ensure local staff and activities are connected to national CCE counterparts Church Mobilization
  • Develop and assess local church mobilization strategy for effective church partnerships
  • Support the Church Mobilizer in growing and maintaining church relationships that support transformational impact in these areas : Equipping, Serving, Advocating, and Giving
  • Represent World Relief at church outreach events or speaking engagements, on occasion
  • Volunteer Engagement

  • Support volunteer coordination staff in volunteer recruitment, training, coaching and retention efforts
  • Champion the role of volunteers for the office, and ensure staff understanding about volunteers’ vital role with WR’s work continues to grow
  • Guide implementation and scaling of the Good Neighbor Team program
  • Provide accountability for meeting volunteer engagement standards and goals
  • Guide the development and implementation of the Good Neighbor Ambassador program
  • In-Kind Goods & Services
  • Support the In-Kind Goods & Services Coordinator in developing an effective outreach and donor appreciation strategy for in-kind goods
  • Guide and scale World Relief’s local community partnerships to support program initiatives
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in volunteer management, church relations, or community engagement.
  • Strong people management skills, with a passion for working through a team to engage stakeholders with giving opportunities.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to step into challenging interpersonal situations and address conflict
  • Confidence and cultural sensitivity to effectively engage colleagues from every area of the organization.
  • Highly organized with the ability to navigate competing priorities and meet concurrent objectives.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with an ability to “think outside the box” on a frequent basis.
  • Experience launching and growing new initiatives
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office 365 applications
  • Previous supervisory skills are preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Social Work, Theology, or related field.
  • Some travel required- Up to 25% domestic travel only
  • Valid Driver's License Required

  • General office setting. World Relief also offers hybrid and remote schedules for limited positions.
  • Great lengths of time working on computer, reading from computer screen, entering information, standing at copier or fax machine, and some time on the phone or in virtual meetings may be required.
  • Year-end archiving activities involve repeated lifting and bending.
