The role encompasses Sunday Services, pre-recorded programming, major seasonal events and initiatives such as Christmas, Easter, Nights of Worship, Core Ministry Events, etc. The Music Director will assist and communicate with the Worship Pastor in efforts to develop and prepare impactful worship through music. The Music Director will also assist the Worship Pastor with providing training and training resources to help ICC musicians grow musically.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Supports worship pastor with preparation for weekly rehearsals, and sound checks including Sunday worship services, major events, projects, etc.Helps lead the charge with cultivating ICC “sound” and “feel” musically.Arrange and execute various genres and styles of music.Create and build stems / tracks / resources for worship services and rehearsals (tracks, pads, etc.).Help with navigating band in spontaneous worship moments in “live” settings, to ensure minimal to zero distractions from the “Main Thing” / Jesus.Manages and maintains musical gear and equipment.Project manage the band for Sunday services, Midweek rehearsals, Core Ministry Events, Major Holidays, and Special Events.Assists Worship pastor with arranging / recording references and chord charts (if needed) for band / team.Communicate with the team throughout the week (on-call) to ensure excellence for rehearsals and services.Assist worship pastor with and leading / training and growth strategy for ICC team.Organizes training, systems, and processes for current and new band members.Transcribing and arranging / orchestration of instruments (brass, strings, etc.).Manage PCO and keep it up to date (at least 2 weeks ahead).Communicate with production to maintain technical / audio excellence. Be innovative in this area as well.Attend planning meetings for Sundays and Special events.Helps in the development of more volunteer musicians at ICC by creating systems and processes of growth.QUALIFICATIONS : Strong work ethic; excellent communication skills; team player; ability to learn fast and execute quickly.Excellent organizational skills.Ability to work independently and as a team to meet deadlines.Ability to multi-task efficiently.Play multiple instruments well.Understand and be able to teach Nashville number system.Affectively utilize Ableton and at least one other DAW.NEEDED ATTRIBUTES : A commitment to Jesus Christ and a life that demonstrates consistency with biblical standards, including compatibility with the church's statement of faith and governing values.Highly functional both behind the scenes and out front.Demonstrate a high degree of loyalty and the capability of protecting the confidentiality of sensitive matters related to the church.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Have a team-first mentality focused on collaboration and communal betterment.Serve as an excellent example of Christian witness to the community within and outside the church.PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Constant sitting, standing, moving, and viewing of screens.
