Planner Position at Albin Engineering Services, Inc.

Albin Engineering Services, Inc. is looking for a Planner for one of our premier clients in the Sunnyvale, CA area. As our employee, you qualify for our full benefit package.

The Planner is responsible for supporting program execution through effective production planning, material coordination, scheduling, and workflow optimization. This role ensures that all materials, resources, and documentation are available to meet program milestones, customer requirements, and manufacturing schedules within a fast-paced aerospace and defense environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize production schedules to meet program requirements and delivery commitments.
  • Coordinate material availability by monitoring inventory levels, purchase orders, and supplier deliveries.
  • Release and manage work orders in support of manufacturing, assembly, and test operations.
  • Analyze demand signals using MRP/ERP systems and ensure alignment with program forecasts.

Coordination & Execution

  • Serve as the primary interface between manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and quality to resolve material or schedule constraints.
  • Support kitting processes, line-of-balance tracking, and shop floor execution.
  • Identify schedule risks and propose mitigation strategies to maintain production flow.
  • Facilitate daily/weekly production control meetings as needed.

Data & Reporting

  • Track performance metrics such as schedule adherence, material shortages, and work-in-process status.
  • Maintain accurate records within ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, P2P, MRP II).
  • Generate reports to support program reviews and internal audits.

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in root cause and corrective action efforts related to material, process, or scheduling issues.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance planning efficiency, reduce waste, and improve on-time delivery.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with production planning, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
  • Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and basic supply chain principles.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • On-site or hybrid work depending on program needs.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams across supply chain, engineering, operations, and program management.
  • May involve occasional overtime or off-shift support during critical production periods.
  • Experience in aerospace/defense or high-reliability manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency with SAP, Solumina, or similar systems
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma principles.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain one.
