Job descriptionEquivalent experience without AAS degree - high school graduate and 10+ years of experience in computer aided drafting and / or in electric utility work. Interest in high-voltage transmission / distribution lines. Experience a plus. Ability to effectively read and understand construction drawings. Ability to develop and coordinate design drawings. Firm understanding of design software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D. High level of attention to detail. Ability to work independently and within a team environment, working with individuals from various offices and in various disciplines. Must possess excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and the ability to multi-task between several projects and priorities at one time. Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of PLS-CADD and / or safety codes, utility standards, and regulations (NESC, ASCE IEEE) a plus. Valid Driver's License is required. Responsible for leading the revision of drawings and documentation for transmission and distribution projects in AutoCAD, from scope documents, engineering sketches, and / or verbal instructions. Preparing bills of material to procure needed materials for projects. Preparing applications and supporting documentation for engineering permits when necessary. Coordinating with technical personnel to gather and record data for design projects and complete as built and record print revisions from marked drawings. Communication and coordination with multi-disciplinary groups. Document organization and record keeping. Assist in the development of standards, tools and other resources to be used by the designer team. Role Qualifications :
- Experience / Education :
6+ years of civil design experience and an Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS) in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CAD) or civil, or mechanical engineering technology.
