Civil Estimator
We are seeking a Civil Estimator to join our team in Phoenix. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in heavy civil construction and some experience in estimating. You will work closely with chief estimators to contribute to the success of our projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist two chief estimators with quantity take-offs and project summaries for bidding.
- Prepare and manage bid packages.
- Attend pre-bid job walk meetings and site investigations.
- Prepare labor, equipment, and material project estimates.
- Manage subcontractor/bid procurement and RFIs during the bid period.
- Oversee cost controls and prepare resource-driven project schedules per client's request.
- Assist project managers in preparing change order requests.
- Maintain subcontractor relations and deliver high-quality competitive bid analyses.
Essential Skills
- 2-6 years of civil construction experience.
- Experience in the field and exposure to estimating.
- Civil experience in concrete and dirt work.
- Self-perform estimating experience.
- Proficiency in Excel, Bluebeam, and Teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Electrical/utility experience.
- Familiarity with web-based estimating software like Procore or Proest.
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management.
Work Environment
The position involves 80% office work and 20% fieldwork. The candidate will travel within Arizona for site visits, with the farthest locations being Phoenix or Tucson. The role includes reporting to two chief estimators who will provide training in estimating as needed. A company vehicle is provided for travel. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $125000.00/yr. Will provide company benefits when candidates get to the interview stage.
