Job descriptionMust have well developed oral and written communication skills with the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, write short simple correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in small groups and one-on-one situations to customers, clients, and / or other employees of the organization. Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize. Requires the ability to maintain confidentiality. Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare and all third-party billing guidelines. High school diploma or GED and six (6) months related experience preferred. An understanding of billing rules and regulation related to Medicaid, Medicare, insurance and self-pay physician services is desired.
SIHF Healthcare Position
Responsible for ensuring team performance that supports the mission of SIHF Healthcare and facilitates the achievement of health center or department goals and objectives. Administer the functions within the department including but not limited to refunds, unpostables, uploading explanation of benefits (EOB) and NSF checks.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities :
- Research accounts with credit balance or overpayments to provide necessary resolution.
- Prepare all supporting documentation to resolve each account to a $0 balance. Prepare refund request as needed.
- Interact with leadership and department staff to resolve customer concerns.
- Collect and post payments as directed by department leadership.
- File manual documents received for the team.
- Document refund checks in Athena when received from accounting.
- Upload payment batches and EOB information into EMR as directed by leadership team.
- Process returned mail and void NSF checks in the EMR.
- Set a good example for team members in the area of professionalism, customer service, and adherence to SIHF Healthcare policies and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, client's daily and other team members of SIHF Healthcare.
- Perform routine duties with minimal supervision.
- Must be HIPAA compliant and maintain confidentiality of all health records.
- Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule :
Normal work hours for this position are Monday through Friday dayshift. Occasionally, weekends and / or overtime is required.
