Claim Service Representative

Primary Location : Louisville, Kentucky

V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Claim Service Representative for our premier client in Louisville, Kentucky .

Education and Experience »

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years of experience administering casualty claims for an insurance carrier or third-party administrator handling casualty claims.
Valid driver’s license.

Preferred :

Associate Degree in Business Administration or related field or specialized training in insurance claims.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities »

Demonstrated knowledge of insurance claims administration and handling, including liability, property damage, workers compensation, no-fault, and ability to comprehend applicable laws.

Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills applied to claims administration and an understanding of the basis of claims processing, management and reporting.

Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally to meet the needs of internal and external customers.

Ability to make basic mathematical calculations.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point.

Ability to learn internal systems that maintain customer and facility data.

Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Ability to meet required deadlines to complete assigned tasks without direct supervision.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of communications and records.

Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage tasks and establish priorities, detail oriented, and ability to complete multiple tasks in an accurate, timely, efficient, courteous and professional manner.

Goal oriented, acceptance of personal responsibility, accountability and good interpersonal skills.

WHAT YOU’LL DO :

Job Responsibilities :

Primary contact for incoming communications of the Claim department, including overseeing the incoming phone line and other messaging systems including central email box.

Receive reports of claims via telephone, mail, email or fax. Enter incoming claims into the RMIS system.

Manage all incoming mail including date stamping, matching to current files or creating new files as needed and instructed by the Supervisor or Claim adjuster.

Maintain database and spreadsheet data including balancing against RMS, Access, Excel and Oracle databases.

Communicate with claimants regarding the need for additional information, status of claims and provide response to all calls for information as appropriate.

Provide research data to Claims staff for claims and recoveries including timelines, ISO reports, etc.

Inform Supervisor – Claims of activities and problems within assigned area of responsibility.

Accumulate and prepare statistics and information for risk analysis and management reporting (i.e., Cost Allocation and Vehicle Accident report).

File documents as assigned.

Perform tasks and transactions as needed for the claims process including the creation and maintenance of accurate and complete paper and electronic files; establishing and / or recording appropriate and timely reserves; maintaining diary of files; and issuance of check requests and recording of all payments made and received in appropriate data bases.

Participate on teams to identify and implement initiatives and measurements that will enhance the processes and systems of Claims Management.

Periodically review and remove files for destruction or transfer to storage; retrieve and / or re-file items from storage facility and maintains accurate records of file activity.

Perform other duties as assigned.
