Medical Claims Negotiator
Minimum of 5 years of experience in working medical appeals and negotiations processes
Onsite in Phoenix, AZ 85281
Pay : $54,000 - $65,000 per year
Schedule : 6 : 00a-4 : 00p (opportunity for flexibility)
Responsibilities :
Review denied or underpaid medical claims and determine appeal viability.
Investigate claim denials by analyzing medical records, policies, and coding guidelines.
Prepare and submit detailed appeal letters and supporting documentation.
Communicate with insurance companies, third-party payers, and providers to negotiate claim settlements.
Track and monitor appeal statuses to ensure timely resolution and escalate cases as needed.
Maintain accurate records of appeals, correspondence, and outcomes.
Collaborate with billing teams, medical staff, and legal departments to ensure compliance with payer policies and healthcare regulations.
Identify trends in denials and recommend process improvements to reduce future claim issues.
Stay up to date on healthcare policies, reimbursement guidelines, and industry best practices.
Requirements :
Minimum of 5 years of experience in working medical appeals, claims and negotiations processes
Medicare, Managed Care and Workers Comp experience
Experience in emergency medical is a plus!
Experience in medical billing and collections, with a strong understanding of coding, billing, and reimbursement processes.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive attitude and a problem-solving mindset.
Proficient in using computer systems, including electronic health record (EHR) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
