Summary :
The Clerk Aide performs clerical and administrative duties as assigned or required by the unit workload. Serves as an informational resource for non-clinical information for patients, visitors, physicians and other CHA personnel.
Responsibilities :
- Must have an excellent working knowledge of the assigned third party payer.
- Performs follow-up procedures as directed by supervisor.
- Performs specialized recording on entries as required in the finance department
- Ensures accurate recording of both electronic, paper claims, misc. revenue and other entries.
- Reports to supervisor patterns of denials and / or problems on patient accounts.
- Assists finance in scheduling meetings and booking conference rooms.
- Preparation of materials for various types of meetings to include printing, copying and distribution, if needed
- Prepare agendas, take notes and types minutes for meetings if and when needed.
- Records actions taken to resolve all accounts assigned.
- Prepares accurate statistical reports when directed by the supervisor.
- Coordinates and completes special projects as assigned.
- Keeps supervisor advised of any backlog or problem.
- Must always follow the policies and procedures as set forth by the management.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Other information :
High school graduate or GED equivalent. Keyboarding skills along with specialized training in billing procedures. Microsoft & Google Apps knowledge required
Work Experience : Third party medical / clinical billing background or training / education experience helpful.
