Be a part of driving healthy change in our communities About the Position The bilingual English / Spanish School Based Health Medical Assistant at Legacy Community Health assists providers in all exams and minor office procedures. You will also be responsible for maintaining supply inventory in exam rooms as well as cleaning and sterilizing equipment. As part of your role, you may also be required to give injections and draw blood. Location : Legacy KIPP Mosaic Clinic - 12751 Hillcroft Ave, Houston TX 77085 Key Responsibilities Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure vital signs, height, and weight in order to record information in medical records. Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens; log the specimens; and prepare them for testing. Help physicians examine and treat patients, handing them instruments and materials or performing such tasks as giving injections and removing sutures. Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean. Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies. Perform phone consultations with clients regarding test results and health concerns. Participate in clinic public health education and registration activities. Assist with administrative tasks that may be necessary for the successful operation of the clinics. Perform client intake and notify appropriate staff of the clients arrival.
