The Family Health Services Clinics of the Health and Social Services Department is currently recruiting for a Clinic Registered Nurse.
The mission of Family Health Services (FHS) is to provide superior, comprehensive, primary medical and dental care in order to improve the health and quality of life of Solano County residents. We have a special commitment to the uninsured, low-income, and medically underserved. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we are a safety net provider. To support our mission, FHS offers four conveniently located clinics in Fairfield, Vacaville, and Vallejo and mobile medical and dental vans in which we provide primary care and dental services. The outpatient primary care clinics see patients five days a week, with some weekend and evening hours offered.

THE POSITION
The Clinic Registered Nurse is a journey level, professional nursing classification. This class is characterized by the responsibility to coordinate the operational activities of public health clinics in addition to providing nursing services in the clinical environment. Positions in this class are assigned in various public health clinics, medical clinics, specialty clinics, and medical mobile van. Duties of the Clinic Registered Nurse will include the following : outpatient nursing services related to patient triage, authorization of medication refills, medication administration in accordance with provider orders, assistance with patient examinations and treatments, completion of laboratory and phlebotomy protocols, specialty referral authorizations, inventory of medications, patient care coordination and patient education. Incumbents work under the medical direction of a physician and within established protocols of the Health Department.
The eligible list created as a result of this recruitment will be used to fill full-time and part-time regular, limited-term or extra-help positions as vacancies occur throughout the County.

Position Requirements
EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Experience : One year of nursing or patient care experience.
Education / Training : Associate's degree in Nursing or diploma in Nursing from a three year RN program is required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of a valid Registered Nurse license issued by the California State Board of Registered Nursing.

VETERANS PREFERENCE POINTS
To be eligible, applicant must have served at least 181 consecutive days of active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States and have received either an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions. A COPY OF THE DD 214, SHOWING DISCHARGE TYPE (GENERALLY COPY 4), MUST BE RECEIVED IN THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT BY THE FINAL FILING DATE.
