Definition
Definition : Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager primarily assigned to River People Health Center (RPHC). This job class is treated as FLSA Exempt.
Essential Functions : Essential functions may vary among positions and may include the following tasks, knowledge, abilities, skills and other characteristics. Examples of Tasks
Tasks :
1. Direct Care : Performs nursing assessments and screenings.
- Obtains and documents health histories.
- Initiates patient education efforts and preventative health measures within scope of practice for professional registered nurse.
- Carries out medical provider orders.
- Initiates appropriate interventions according to health care priorities identified in conjunction with primary care provider.
- Administers medication as prescribed by physician or nurse practitioner.
- Monitors medications and determines efficacy of medications, side effects and drug interactions.
- Provides medication education to patients.
- Assists with HHS employee health efforts including annual influenza vaccination clinic.
- Participates as a member of multi-disciplinary consultation and review teams including case assignments.
2. Administration : Assures adherence to established policies, procedures and standing orders.
3. Miscellaneous : Performs other duties as assigned to maintain and enhance the health care program and Department of Health and Human Services service operation.
