Job Type : Full-time Pay : From $16.50 per hour 401(k) 401(k) matching Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance General Summary of Duties : Responsible for assisting Patients from the Lobby to the Exam Areas, performing clerical and basic clinical patient care, and ensuring timely patient flow into the exam areas. Essential Functions : Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned, including checking schedules, accompanying patients to exam rooms, assisting patients, and collecting patient history. Fulfills clerical responsibilities, including managing patient medical records and verifying insurance coverage. Fulfills environmental responsibilities, including setting up and cleaning exam rooms. Maintains strict confidentiality and complies with HIPAA Privacy standards. All other duties as assigned. Education : Minimum High school diploma and completion of company on-the-job training program. Experience : Minimum of one year work experience in a public contact job, preferably service-related. Experience or interest in health care preferred. Requirements : Maintains CPR certification. Knowledge : Knowledge of health care field and medical specialty. Knowledge of specific assisting tasks related to particular medical specialty. Knowledge of basic computing. Skills : Skill in performing tasks appropriately and efficiently. Skill in interpersonal interactions. Skill in understanding patient education needs. Abilities : Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures. Ability to project a pleasant and professional image. Ability to prioritize and complete delegated tasks. Environmental / Working Conditions : Combination of medical office and exam / procedure room settings. Exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to clinic settings. Physical / Mental Demands : Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics for patient transfers and assist with walking, dressing, etc. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods.
