Job Description

The Clinical Health Services at the Department of Health and Human Services is seeking to hire a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with an ability to work effectively with medical staff, officers and offenders.
In this position you will integrate nursing care between professional disciplines; assist with caring for the mental health and physical needs of offenders; provide quality nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team; observe, report, document, and communicate interventions, treatments, behaviors, emergency needs, and medical situations as they arise for the offenders. This position will require rotating weekends.
The ideal candidate will :
- Have a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the State of Utah.
- Have some experience working in a hospital, nursing, or secure patient environment.
- Skilled in the use of computers and electronic health records.
- Have demonstrated ability to take and record vital signs; transfer and transport patients in a safe manner using proper body mechanics; recognize signs and symptoms indicating distress; and to perform CPR if needed.
- Have good patient assessment skills.
- Have good documentation skills.
- Be detail oriented.
- Have the ability to work well with medical staff, officers and offenders.
