The work involves the responsibility for conducting comprehensive Sobriety Treatment and Recovery Teams (START) parent assessments for substance use disorder (SUD) and co-occurring mental health (MH) treatment level of care, making treatment recommendations, coordinating all treatment services, and following clients to ensure clinical needs are met. This model promotes collaboration as a system of care to include DSS, treatment providers, and the judicial system. The model targets families with children ages birth through five years old within the child welfare system. This position requires a thorough understanding of the recovery process and effective communication skills with other staff and parents. An employee in this class will be expected to assume a collaborative role on the team and work seamlessly with all members of the team and other members of the community. This position is located within the Child Welfare Division and requires an understanding of the child welfare system. Work is performed under the general direction of a Child Welfare Supervisor with leeway to exercise independent judgment within the framework of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in the performance of duties, both in terms of planning and accomplishing work, and in making decisions regarding customer needs and requests and conducting project assignments. Supervision over others may be required of this position. Position does related work as required.Hiring range is based on the Orange County Social Services Step Plan. The Step Plan is based on years of START Clinical Services Coordinator experience. Full credit is given for years of experience performing the same job functions. Partial credit is given for years of experience performing related job functions. The top half of the scale is reserved for career employees with senior level experience in the same role.
