Job Description

Assesses, plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates education for clinical employees which promotes clinical and professional development resulting in improved quality of care for patients and families. Performs duties associated with clinical practice, professional development, leadership and quality, and evidence-based practice. Develops and implements education plan for assigned unit to proactively support delivery of safe patient care.

Experience

  • BSN with 3 years of Operating Room experience (4,500 hrs) OR ADN with 5 years' Operating Room experience (7,500 hrs)

Preferred Qualifications

Education

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Certification Summary

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
  • PALS or PEARS Certification within one year of hire date, as required by department
  • CNOR Certification required
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Professional Mandatory Requirments

  • Completes orientation and Initial Assessment of Competency successfully by determined due date
  • Completes mandatory education and annual competency assessment requirements as defined by unit and system by due date
  • 75% attendance at staff meetings, if applicable
  • Demonstrates enrichment in direct patient care and involved in activities that support direct patient care as evidenced by the activities outlined in Children's Nursing Career Advancement Program

  • Performs the nursing process across the continuum to deliver age and developmentally appropriate patient-family-centered care.
  • Integrates values and language preferences into healthcare delivery through a culturally sensitive process.
  • Utilizes clinical decision support tools and resources to recognize issues, prioritize care and modify plan of care as needed.
  • Utilizes appropriate documentation tools to record, measure and retrieve healthcare data.
  • Provides patient and family education appropriate for the identified learning needs.
  • 6.Utilizes resources to plan and provide nursing care that is safe, effective, and financially responsible.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and proficiency in holistically managing direct care for complex patients. Anticipates and prioritizes patient care plan to deal with unexpected problems and make long range plans in a swift, efficient, and holistic manner.

  • Effectively facilitates timely admission, transfer, and discharge process for patient assignment, ensuring safe and efficient patient flow through collaboration with physicians, interdisciplinary team, hospital leadership and staff. Removes or escalates barriers to appropriate leader.
