The Mission of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) is to protect and promote the health of all San Franciscans. SFDPH strives to achieve its mission through the work of two main Divisions - the San Francisco Health Network and Population Health. The San Francisco Health Network is the Citys only complete system of care and has locations throughout the City, including Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, and over 15 primary care health centers.

Under general direction, the Clinical Pharmacist performs professional pharmaceutical duties in drug education and utilization, counsels patients on drug usage, educates health care personnel on drug utilization, and may compound drugs and dispense medicines in a clinical pharmacy. Nature of positions : Positions are located throughout the Department of Public Health, including Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG), Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center (LHH), Community Primary Care and Mental Health Clinics, as well as San Francisco County Jails. Some positions may require employees to work directly with individuals within locked jails and psychiatric facilities, the homeless population and / or individuals who have or are carriers of infectious / communicable diseases.

Minimum Qualifications

License : Requires possession of a valid Registered Pharmacist license issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy. (Please attach a copy of license);

Experience : One (1) of the following :

One year of full-time employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours (2,000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40-hour work week).

Training and Experience Evaluation (Weight : 100%) : Candidates will be email a Training and Experience Evaluation Supplemental Questionnaire at any point in the recruitment process. The Supplemental Questionnaire is designed to measure knowledge, skills and / or abilities in job related areas that have been identified as critical for satisfactory performance in this position. All relevant experience, education and / or training must be on the application in order to be reviewed in the scoring process. Candidate responses on the Supplemental Questionnaire cannot be changed once submitted. Candidates will be places on the eligible list in rank order according to their final score on the Supplemental Questionnaire. The department may administer additional position-specific selection procedures to make final hiring decisions.

Language Proficiency Exam : For positions requiring bilingual fluency, candidates deemed qualified who meet the special language condition must pass a departmentally approved language proficiency exam prior to appointment. Only those eligible candidates who pass the bilingual proficiency test will be considered for the bilingual position.
