The Clinical and Translational Research Center (CTRC) is a world-class clinical trial facility conducting over 700 innovative studies across 22 departments, with a strong focus on first-in-human, Phase I and II trials. The primary purpose of the Medical Assistant position is to acts as lead technical assistant in preparing patients for medical visits and procedures.
Medical Assistant opportunity in the Clinical & Translational Research Center. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of Medical Assistant experience; preferably in a hospital environment. Experience performing 12 lead EKGs is preferred.
Shift : Monday - Friday 12 pm - 10 : 30 pm alternating weekends / holidays. (shift on Saturday and Sunday is 7 : 00 am - 3 : 30 pm)
Salary Range
$43,000 minimum - $54,000 midpoint - $65,000 maximum

Key Functions
Assists with patient examinations, treatments and procedures. Prepares / stocks rooms and escorts patients to rooms. Obtains vital signs and prepares patients for physician's care. Documents in the medical record patient care entries and completed lab work. Reviews and sorts incoming lab results and forwards reports for review. Collects laboratory specimens and performs waived laboratory testing (such as finger stick glucose and EKG tests). Provides transportation of patients for discharge or transfer to other areas in the hospital. Must position, lift and move patients as needed. Cleans, stores, prepares and coordinates maintenance of medical equipment. Maintains inventories of laboratory and medical supplies. Processes all required paperwork. Instructs patients as to test preparations according to planned procedure.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Required : High school diploma / equivalent.
Preferred : Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or US Military medical services training program.
EXPERIENCE
Required : One year of medical assistant experience. With preferred degree, no experience is required.
Preferred : One year of medical assistant experience.
CERTIFICATION
Required : None
Preferred : Certified by one of the following based on Medical Assistant experience or preferred education :
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
