Job description

Research Associate

Job Description

This position is in the St. Louis Production Genotyping lab. You will work collaboratively with a large production team of full-time employees and contractors to achieve daily and weekly genotyping targets under tight deadlines. Your primary responsibility will be operating manual and automated lab processes in a sequencing library creation lab. Additional tasks may include sample preparation, sequencing, qPCR, general lab stocking, and supply upkeep.

Responsibilities

Operate manual and automated lab equipment for sequencing library creation.
Assist in the care and maintenance of lab equipment.
Help with the receipt, inspection, ordering, and stocking of raw materials.
Process samples through sequencing library preparation.
Prepare and stock lab consumables.
Ensure the lab runs smoothly by performing various support tasks as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Strong attention to detail.

High work ethic and sense of urgency.

Excellent communication skills.

Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is a plus.

Automation and mechanical aptitude, with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

Assertive and proactive personality, not afraid to speak up

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00 / hr.
