Bilingual Clinic Receptionist

The Arizona Humane Society is looking for a dedicated full-time Bi-lingual Clinic Receptionist to join our non-profit veterinary clinic at our Sunnyslope Campus. Location : Sunnyslope Campus

Status : 1.0 FTE

FLSA : Nonexempt

Schedule : Monday-Thursday OR Thursday-Friday 7 AM-6 PM, dependent on clinic needs

Reports To : Veterinary Clinic Supervisor

Supervises : N / A

WORK-LIFE BALANCE (THREE DAY WEEKENDS!)

By joining our team, your schedule will be four 10-hour workdays with three-day weekends every week, giving you extra time to enjoy life outside of work! Your schedule will be Monday through Thursday with Friday through Sunday off. Overtime available!

A Day in the Life :

As a clinic receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clinic clients and their pets. Join our mission to help ensure that all pets receive care, no matter their owner's financial status. Our clinic receptionists are at the forefront of our mission as they help ensure that pet owners receive timely appointments and resources for their pets while having an excellent experience every time. Our energetic, friendly and self-motivated receptionists are responsible for greeting all customers with a friendly smile, maintaining first and last impressions in the lobby, and managing high-volume calls and appointment scheduling. Strong communication abilities, phone etiquette and excellent customer service skills are a must. A passion for helping people and pets in need is a plus!

Job Requirements :

  • High school diploma OR GED.
  • One year experience in a customer service OR receptionist position. Experience in the veterinary field a plus.
  • Ability to speak fluently and write in English and Spanish.
  • Requires above average clerical skills, including legible handwriting, spelling and grammar as well as strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Windows Explorer; able to learn other software programs as necessary.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute, ratio and percent.
  • Responsible for front office first impressions and building relationships with the clients. Offers an excellent experience every time
  • Answers high-volume medical and scheduling calls in a timely and courteous manner, while also servicing in-person customers
  • Maintains accurate scheduling based on veterinarian schedules and available resources
  • Responds and appropriately handles emergency situations in a calm, professional and effective manner
  • Creates service estimates
  • Ensures confirmation of next day's appointments
  • Maintains online pharmacy order requests in a timely manner
  • Properly discharges hospitalized patients when assistants or technicians cannot perform discharges. Provides client with necessary post-operative or post-hospitalization instructions (both oral and written) and provides the client with all necessary medications
  • Work Environment / Physical Demands :

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 40 pounds. This position requires repetitive motion involving the hands, wrists, elbows and shoulders plus good dexterity for answering phones, writing and data entry. Good hearing and vision are necessary as well as the ability to talk loudly to project over sometimes very noisy animals. The clinic receptionist handles a high volume of telephone calls, customers and animals. He / she will be exposed to large numbers of potentially dangerous, fast-moving animals.

    There may be occasional wet floors, animal noises, odors, and dander. Most time will be spent in a typical air conditioned and heated office environment.
