Employment Status: Exempt
Geographic Scope: United States, Asia, Europe, and other global locations
Direct Reports: Global IT support and systems engineering team
Position Summary
We are seeking a Global IT Manager to lead and oversee a global information technology function spanning IT service delivery, systems administration, infrastructure, enterprise applications, technical support, process improvement, and technology projects.

This position will manage a geographically distributed support and systems engineering team serving employees and business operations across multiple countries and time zones.

The Global IT Manager is responsible for ensuring the organization's technology environment is reliable, secure, cost-effective, and scalable. The environment includes enterprise resource planning, CRM, Microsoft 365, Azure, Power Platform, data and reporting platforms, business applications, customer and supplier portals, integrations, and end-user computing.

The role combines three primary areas of responsibility:

  • People leadership and global support delivery

  • Technology operations, process, and governance

  • Project, systems, and business solution leadership

This individual will partner closely with business leaders and process owners to translate organizational needs into practical technology roadmaps, projects, support models, and system improvements.
Key Responsibilities Global IT Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and maintain a global IT strategy and multiyear technology roadmap aligned with business priorities, growth plans, operational requirements, and risk.

  • Translate business objectives into technology priorities, investment recommendations, resource plans, and implementation roadmaps.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve productivity, information quality, customer service, and operational efficiency.

  • Establish global technology standards while accounting for legitimate regional operating, regulatory, language, infrastructure, and support requirements.

  • Maintain an appropriate balance between internal capabilities, external expertise, operating costs, service quality, and organizational risk.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and develop a global team responsible for end-user support, systems engineering, cloud services, business applications, data platforms, integrations, automation, and local office technology.

  • Establish clear responsibilities, service expectations, priorities, escalation paths, and performance standards across regions.

  • Manage workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and team development.

  • Build team capabilities across Microsoft technologies, systems administration, data and analytics, automation, application support, integrations, cybersecurity, and documentation.

  • Encourage knowledge sharing and cross-training to reduce key-person dependencies.

  • Develop engineers toward greater system ownership, automation, mentoring, and architectural responsibility.

Global IT Operations & Service Delivery

  • Oversee consistent IT support for employees, offices, and business functions across global locations.

  • Establish and monitor service-management processes covering incidents, requests, escalations, problems, changes, releases, and knowledge management.

  • Ensure effective support for endpoints, operating systems, Microsoft 365, identity and access, endpoint management, local networks, telephony, meeting technologies, and office hardware.

  • Analyze recurring incidents and service trends to identify root causes, corrective actions, training needs, and opportunities for automation.

  • Maintain support documentation, operating procedures, system records, asset information, and escalation processes.

  • Measure and report service performance, system availability, recurring issues, user experience, and backlog status.

Enterprise Systems & Applications

  • Provide management and governance for global business applications and technology services.

  • Ensure reliable operation, maintenance, support, enhancement, and lifecycle planning for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and related enterprise systems.

  • Oversee Microsoft 365, Azure, Power Platform, Power BI/Microsoft Fabric, Dataverse, portals, and other business-critical technologies.

  • Coordinate integrations involving APIs, FTP, data synchronization, EDI, deployment pipelines, and finance or order-processing systems.

  • Partner with system owners, business leaders, consultants, and engineers to establish priorities, define requirements, test solutions, and manage releases.

  • Monitor system performance, data integrity, security, compliance, cost, capacity, and scalability.

Technology Projects & Change Management

  • Lead the evaluation, planning, prioritization, and delivery of global technology projects.

  • Serve as project manager, program lead, or technology sponsor as appropriate.

  • Establish project scope, objectives, requirements, milestones, responsibilities, resources, risks, budgets, testing, implementation plans, and post-launch support.

  • Manage a portfolio of active and proposed IT initiatives.

  • Coordinate internal teams, business stakeholders, external consultants, implementation partners, and technology vendors.

  • Manage competing priorities and allocate technology resources based on business impact, urgency, risk, strategic alignment, and available capacity.

  • Ensure appropriate change management, user communication, training, documentation, and adoption.

Process Improvement, Automation & Data

  • Partner with business functions to understand workflows, pain points, information needs, and opportunities for technology-enabled improvement.

  • Develop and continuously improve IT and technology-supported business processes.

  • Identify automation opportunities that reduce manual effort, strengthen controls, and improve operational visibility.

  • Oversee appropriate use of Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, scripting, APIs, Azure services, and other approved technologies.

  • Support data pipelines, ETL processes, reporting tools, integrations, and data platforms.

  • Promote effective use of Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and related analytics capabilities.

  • Evaluate practical AI-enabled solutions while maintaining appropriate security, privacy, accuracy, and governance.

Security, Compliance & Business Continuity

  • Establish appropriate IT policies, standards, access controls, administrative practices, and technical safeguards.

  • Oversee identity, access, endpoint, cloud, application, data, and integration security.

  • Support technology and security incident preparedness and response.

  • Maintain backup, recovery, continuity, emergency contact, and critical-system documentation.

  • Monitor compliance, logging, data integrity, application security, and technical risks across managed environments.

  • Escalate material risks, vulnerabilities, incidents, and control weaknesses appropriately.

Vendor & Financial Management

  • Manage relationships with technology vendors, managed service providers, consultants, software providers, telecommunications providers, and equipment suppliers.

  • Participate in vendor evaluation, solution selection, contract review, renewals, and performance management.

  • Develop and manage IT operating and project budgets.

  • Monitor licensing, subscriptions, equipment, consulting expenses, cloud consumption, and project costs.

  • Identify opportunities to reduce duplication, optimize licensing, control cloud costs, and strengthen internal capabilities.

  • Prepare business cases and financial recommendations for technology investments.

Business Partnership

  • Build strong relationships with business leaders, employees, system owners, super users, service providers, and technical partners.

  • Translate technical issues, risks, options, and recommendations into clear business language.

  • Facilitate discussions around ownership, requirements, priorities, costs, timelines, and expected outcomes.

  • Provide regular reporting on service delivery, system performance, projects, budgets, resources, risks, and roadmap progress.

  • Serve as an escalation point for significant technology, system, vendor, project, and service issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Technology, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Progressive experience managing IT operations, business applications, systems administration, technology projects, or related functions.

  • Experience leading and developing technical or IT support employees, preferably across multiple locations or countries.

  • Strong experience managing enterprise systems within a Microsoft-centered environment.

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, Azure, Power Platform, or comparable cloud and enterprise platforms.

  • Experience managing technology projects from requirements and planning through testing, implementation, adoption, and ongoing support.

  • Experience managing vendors, consultants, contracts, licensing, budgets, and service expectations.

  • Experience establishing or improving IT processes, technical documentation, support practices, controls, and service reporting.

  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity, access management, endpoint administration, cloud operations, data protection, business continuity, and technology risk management.
