The CNC Machinist must be able to read and work from blueprints, as well as program, set up and operate CNC lathes and / or mills. Base pay rate for this position is $30.00 to $37.00 an hour.
Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL
Setup and operate CNC Lathe using programs generated in Master Cam.
Edit and optimize CNC Lathe programs for efficiency.
Machine basic fixtures, and tooling to meet machining requirements.
Measure and examine completed parts to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machine shop equipment.
Operate and rig material handling equipment (overhead cranes, gantries, forklifts).
Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
High school diploma or equivalent.
One to three years formal training (vocation or technical school).
Five years previous experience in a machine shop and three years CNC machine operation.
Must have own basic machinist’s tools for machine setup and inspection.
Proficiency in blueprint reading and machining techniques.
Familiar with Machine Shop Safety and OSHA requirements.
Ability to set up and operate CNC lathes.
Experience in Master Cam programming is a plus.
CNC Vertical and / or Horizontal Machining Centers experience is a plus.
