Summary / Objective

This position will strategize for continued improvement in coding compliance and billing operations. Responsible for the overall Coding Practices, Coding Education, and Coding Compliance / Regulatory programs for OnPoint Medical group. This will include but is not limited to educating Providers and Staff, identifying & evaluating coding practices & trends by payer, analyzing reports, auditing and & verifying appropriate coding practices, and researching, updating, and providing education for new coding guidelines.

This position will identify opportunities, develop, and implement coding processes and evaluate outcomes such as improved diagnostic Coding of the senior population and enhanced revenue stream for the individual providers.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for developing monthly metrics for proactive and reactive chart and billing audits while working with the Leadership in maintaining corporate goals and initiatives, including RAF / HCC coding education and reporting.
  • Responsible for creating and hosting educational webinars, seminars, and forms of communication. This includes but is not limited to authoring Payer Bulletins / Communications, hosting coding educational series, and coding educational materials as needed.
  • Monitors coding accuracy and productivity by coder analyzes audit findings and identifies improvement opportunities.
  • Work within Coding Guidelines, including following local, state, and federal coding and billing rules and regulations and Billing Department guidelines.
  • Maintain current certifications.
  • Contributes and supports OnPoints quality initiatives by collaborating with internal departments to achieve a positive outcome for OnPoints quality improvement efforts.
  • Provider documentation review and provide timely feedback to providers.
  • Collaborate with internal and external clients to identify opportunities for system enhancements regarding coding and coding compliance.
  • Work with internal teams to develop workflows for provider documentation.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications :

Required Education and Experience

  • Candidate must have at least five (5) years, (7 preferred) of Medical Coding Experience.
  • CPC, CPMA Certifications with expert knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
  • Must have exceptional ability to build and maintain positive provider relationships.
  • Extroverted team leader with critical thinking skills; and demonstrated experience making process improvements in support of business objectives
  • Supervisory Responsibility : Responsible to staff department, progressive discipline, and training of staff members. This position will manage the coding staff, including performance evaluations and employee time management. Identify opportunities for performance improvement.

    Work Environment

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting. This position will travel between locations.

    Position Type / Expected Hours of Work : This is a full-time position. Scheduled Monday through Friday 8am -5pm but may require adjustment to hours based on clinic and business needs.

    Travel : Local travel to various worksites is required

  • Salary : $65,000 to $80,000
