Job Description
Summary : The Technical Support Specialist's role is to ensure proper computer operations so that end users can accomplish organizational tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting and actively resolving end user help requests. Problem resolution may involve
the use of diagnostics and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the individual give hands-on help at the desktop level.
Education : Certificate or Associates Degree in information technology, computer science or desk support
Experience : Prior experience with information technology preferred.
Essential Job Functions :
- Provide assistance and maintenance to all computer systems and hardware
- Install, configure, and update hardware and software when the need arises
- Fix any issue related to the equipment that may come up on a daily basis.
- Giving regular maintenance to existing hardware and computer systems.
- Providing assistance to company staff or clients with technology-related issues such as understanding the issue and its cause, solving the problem and explaining the problem to the staff member or client
- Replacing damaged or malfunctioning parts on hardware when necessary and ordering new parts when out of stock
- Writing reports on the status of all hardware and software in the company.
- Implementing and assisting on the roll out of new applications or operating systems
- Setting up profiles, emails, and issuing access passes for new employees and assisting in all password-related issues.
- Running security checks on all systems.
- Conducting electrical safety tests on all systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Equipment Operated : Will use basic office equipment such as a computer, printer, copier, and fax machine.
Work Environment : Well lit medical office environment
Mental / Physical Requirements :
Must be able to lift at least 10lbs.
Sitting 75% of the time
Standing / walking 15% of the time
