Intervention Specialist at New Story Schools

Job Responsibilities :

  • Develop and manage IEPs through the creating and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student with special needs working in a classroom setting.
  • Monitor student progress through tracking and assessing student development, making necessary adjustments to keep them on the path to success.
  • Responsible for managing challenging behaviors and implementing behavior support plans.
  • Work closely with paraprofessionals, support staff, and parents to build a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Advocate for students ensuring compliance with educational laws and advocate for the rights and needs of students with disabilities.
  • Create a positive and engaging learning space where every student feels supported and can thrive.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in special education, education, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid OH Teaching Certification in Special Education
  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with students, parents, and staff.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Passion for Special Education, demonstrated by patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students with special needs succeed.
