Job description2+ years of experience commissioning electrical or mechanical systems, data center and building management systems experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred. Associate degree, military training, or equivalent work experience will also be considered. Strong understanding of power distribution or HVAC systems depending on specialization. Excellent problem-solving and technical analysis skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Proficient in MS Office Suite; Bluebeam or AutoCAD experience is a plus. Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project needs. Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., NEC, ASHRAE, IEEE, NFPA) is a plus.

Job Description :
Meade Engineering is seeking a Commissioning Engineer with experience in either electrical or mechanical systems to support commissioning efforts for mission-critical infrastructure projects, primarily in data center environments.
This role is responsible for validating the installation and operation of building systems such as power distribution, UPS, generators, ATS, switchgear, and / or HVAC systems, cooling units, CRACs, and mechanical plant equipment-depending on your background. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
This position can be based remotely, with preference given to candidates in Austin, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Atlanta, GA; Reno, NV; Grand Rapids, MI; or Las Vegas, NV.
Job Duties :
- Develop and execute commissioning scripts, test plans, and standard procedures.
- Validate system installations and ensure mechanical or electrical equipment meets specifications and operational readiness.
- Perform onsite construction observations and functional testing.
- Conduct and document commissioning tests for a variety of building systems.
- Review and provide feedback on design documents and submittals.
- Collect and analyze performance data and prepare technical reports.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and engineering teams throughout the commissioning process.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
- Maintain detailed documentation and clear communication across stakeholders.
