Job Title : Production EngineerDepartment : Supply ChainReports to : Plant ManagerESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :
Supports Product Development with the process development that meets plant capabilities. Oversees the evaluation and development of new processes, methods, and production controls, identifies needs, prepare scope and business cases for Capital projects and lead projects related to process equipment.
Identify equipment requirements to improve productivity and meet capacity increases as necessary.
Utilize concepts such as Lean, Continuous Improvement, 5s, etc to develop and maintain programs to improve plant productivity.
Focus on improvement of production yields, scrap reduction, downtime reduction etc.
Identify performance metrics to maintain / improve reliability across the plant.
Develop detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflow to optimize production efficiency.
Conduct process improvement training across relevant departments.
Ensure compliance with quality standards.
Prepare operations reference materials for new or existing equipment.
Review current manufacturing standards and SOP's.REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE :
Bachelors Degree in Process, Mechanical, or industrial Engineering
P.ENG is a plus.
5+ years of relevant experience.
Advanced knowledge of engineering concepts, practices, standards, and systems.
Experience implementing continuous improvement and best practice initiatives.
Working knowledge of 5s and Lean.
Familiarity with food industry related standards.
Experience working in a GMP, HACCP & SQF certified environment is preferred.
Excellent time management.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to help interact with and motivate a diverse work group.
Strong computer / technical skills.
Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and facilitate change management.
Strong written & verbal communication skills.
Travel to facilities across North America.
Comfortable working on a shop floor with staff.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Must be able to perform the following functions with or without accommodations :

The job is performed under frequent temperature variations and in a food manufacturing warehouse environment. Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees. The ability to lift to 30 lbs. is required.
